In the event that the in-person portion of our monthly meeting cannot be held due to weather and/or parking lot conditions, the meeting will still be held -- via Zoom only. The decision will be made by the Board of Directors by noon the day of the scheduled meeting. Notice of this change will be sent via email to all members of TheQuiltingParty Google group

January 3
Quilters Treasure Sale
Did Santa Claus bring too many new goodies? Do you need to make space? Start the New Year with a clean slate AND a clean sewing area. Bring your overflow and unwanted items and even unfinished projects to the January meeting and then shop at the treasures others placed on the $1, $3, $5 and $10 tables. Enjoy cookies, hot chocolate and fun games. All profits will benefit future programs. Any unsold and unclaimed items will be donated to the Second Time Around Thrift Shop of Montgomery County.

Sewing Machine Care - Al Hunt (Virtual)
Bernina Technical Educator and sewing machine expert, Al will walk us through routine maintenance and care of our sewing machines so we can be stitching smoothly all year long.

Trunk Show with Ashley Bandy
Since starting her quilting journey in grad school in 2009, Ashley has made over 100 quilts, including many of her own design. She was accepted in the AQS Paducah show before the age of 30 and also had a quilt accepted into Houston’s virtual show. Coming from a family of teachers, she loves sharing her experiences, tips and tricks, and cautionary tales from her quilting journey.

Things that go Bump in the Night with Polly Mellow
Prepare yourself for a walk down the dark side of quilting, with quilts and ephemera from the infamous collection of Polly Mello. You will see Mourning quilts, Coffin Drapes, Quilts of Presidential Demise and Assassination, quilts with Creepy Critters: spiders, snakes, alligators etc., Tragic Events from the headlines (the Lindbergh Kidnapping, the sinking of the Titanic), Celestial Phenomenon (Haley’s Comet), and Polly’s favorite, Creepy Crib Quilts.

Making Your Mark, Techniques for adding Details to Your Quilts by Arlene Blackburn
Arlene introduces the art and intention of "Mark Making" on your quilts. She covers the use of different supplies and techniques that will work for use in both traditional and contemporary quilting. These little tricks can take your quilt from "Oh, how pretty" to "WOW!"

Holiday Party and Pot Luck (read more here...)
Our evening in December features a “Pincushion Exchange”: create or buy (~$10) a pincushion, wrap it in true
Christmas style and add your name to the outside. Be prepared for some fun game to get the parcels rotating!
Christmas potluck: bring your favorite appetizer, snack, dessert or any other "just perfect" potluck item.
The guild provides the paper products and cups. There will be plenty of time to laugh, share stories, and socialize.
And let’s not forget CHOCOLATE!
